OMG!!! Richard Rogers, the Richard Rogers who designed Lloyd’s in London, UK and Las Arenas in Barcelona, Spain! What a thrill!

Trial and Error; Life and Death

How long does it take for a person to recover from some mistakes? If it is a simple mistake, people could just say one or two swear words and move on. But what if, what if it is a much more serious mistake? How long should we stay in the blaming-ourselves mode? Life is about trial-and-error learning. But sometimes the matter is about life and death. A simple decision, such as, what to eat for lunch, could sometimes turn out to be a disaster. If a decision that affects hundreds, thousands, and millions of people turns out to be a failure, how long are you going to kick yourself? Or maybe the thing is, we should learn from the mistake and move on.

I guess in school, your grades are like your revenue. All those projects are your businesses. If you fail your projects (businesses), you lost. I made a bad decision in terms of understanding what the project is about. I thought I understood it, but it turned out my interpretation of the project is wrong looking at other classmates’ presentations. I am having problems understanding teachers’ project requirement sometimes. It is scary. When you do not understand what is going on, how do you act on it? On the other hand, isn’t life like this? Isn’t business world like this? You can never be certain of everything and you can never have all the information you need in order to make a decision. That is what critical thinking is about. Based on what you know, you do your due diligence, make a decision, and take a leap of faith.

What should I do next time?

School is a simulation of life and business world. Trial-and-error learning is part of life and business world. We can’t always know everything before we jump. Sometimes matters are life-and-death. We just need to learn from it and move on. This is my brainstorming and reflection of what happened.

I had an interesting day today. Sort of.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs,很可愛喔!

“If there’s something you know you can do, whether it’s intubating a patient or…copping a squat on the roof, and your mind keeps throwing up roadblocks, just know you can drive right through ‘em.” — Scrubs, s3e13.

@ the beach

Other than the photographer, can people really tell which beach this photo is taken at? Probably not. But somehow, in the photographer’s mind, she is willing to believe it’s different from all other beaches she’s been to as if every beach has its own uniqueness and characters.
